Graduation invitations carry information that cannot be fixed after guests have received them. A beautiful design with the wrong address still creates confusion. Treat the final proof as a separate task from designing the invitation.
Separate the announcement from the invitation
An announcement celebrates an accomplishment. An invitation asks someone to attend a specific event. If your piece does both, make the event details clear enough that recipients know whether they are being invited to a ceremony, a party, or another gathering.
Confirm the venue's full name, street address, date, start time, and any arrival instructions. Check the weekday against the date rather than assuming they agree. For events with limited attendance or reservations, make the RSVP method and deadline easy to find.
Read a paper proof
Print a draft at the final size. Check the graduate's name letter by letter and ask a second person to review it. Read the contact number aloud, open the link, and test any printed QR code. Small mistakes are easier to notice when you are reviewing physical paper without design-tool controls around it.
Check both sides together. A photo should not cover a line of important text, and fine lettering should stay readable against the background. Leave safe space around the trim and ask about bleed if artwork extends to the edge.
Confirm the complete package
If the invitations will be mailed, choose compatible envelopes and check the finished dimensions before ordering. Estimate the quantity from households or individual recipients, according to your plan, and allow for any keepsake copies you actually want. Ask separately about envelopes and other materials rather than assuming they are included.
