Handing over a phone full of photographs is not the same as placing a clear print order. The shop needs to know which images you chose, how many copies you want, and which version is the original. A few minutes of organization can prevent the wrong picture from becoming the finished print.

Make a small selection first

Create a dedicated album or folder containing only the images for the order. Remove near-duplicates that you do not want printed. If you have both an edited and an unedited version, identify the approved one instead of expecting someone else to infer your preference.

Check that each selected file is actually available on the device or through the transfer method you will use. A visible thumbnail may not mean the full original has finished downloading from cloud storage. Open the image and confirm that it loads before you leave home or send the order.

Pair filenames with quantities

Write a short list such as “IMG_2041: two 5 × 7 prints; IMG_2056: one 8 × 10.” If a filename is difficult to find on your phone, ask how the shop prefers you to identify images. Avoid sending several batches with conflicting instructions in separate messages.

Use the original image where possible rather than taking a screenshot of it. Some sharing methods resize pictures, so ask how the shop wants to receive the files. Do not assume that a tiny email preview or a social-media download represents the full-resolution photograph.

Confirm the handoff before production

Ask the shop to confirm the image count, sizes, and quantities. Explain whether preserving the whole scene or filling the paper is more important, since a new print shape may require a crop. Review any image that contains people close to the edges.
